Heart of Gold Town Challenge

Calling all South Shore towns! Show us your HEART OF GOLD for Pediatric Cancer Awareness and Research!

This September, join Wicked Good Cause – a South-Shore based 501c3 organiza:on – as we GO WICKED GOLD to drive awareness and raise research funding for Pediatric Cancer, a disease that is on the rise yet remains grossly underfunded. Here’s how you can get involved and help make a difference:

  • Light Up the Night – A Luminary Event for Pediatric Cancer Awareness! Join us on Saturday, September 9th as we Light Up the Night with GOLD Luminary candle bags to support and honor all of the families in our community who have been impacted by pediatric cancer, including Zach Kane, a Wicked Good Cause recipient who passed away on September 8, 2015 from Ewing’s Sarcoma. Every year, this event will be held on the first Saturday after the anniversary of Zach’s passing. Order gold luminary bags through our site beginning in July. On September 9th, line your driveways, streets, neighborhoods and towns to show your solidarity.  A portion of all sales will be donated to our fundraising efforts. Visit our Go Wicked Gold page to learn about local events being organized in select South Shore towns on this day.

  • ‘Heart of Gold’ Neighborhood Fundraisers! Gather the kids in your neighborhood to organize fundraisers throughout September. This is a great way to get our kids involved and show them how they can help make a difference in the lives of other kids! Past neighborhoods have organized lemonade stands, neighborhood car washes and kid’s art sales. The possibili:es are endless!

  • ‘GO WICKED GOLD ’ Local businesses Sponsorships and Shopping Events –Local businesses can par:cipate by signing on to be a GO WICKED GOLD sponsor or by organizing fundraising GO WICKED GOLD shopping events in September that Wicked Good Cause will promote.

  • Schools and Sports Teams – Just like so many people wear pink in October it is our goal to get as many Fall sports teams and schools wearing GOLD gear this September. Schools can par:cipate by organizing Go Gold days, Wicked Good Cause assemblies, and fundraisers led by the student union, honor society, or other student groups. Sports teams can buy GOLD socks and bows at WickedGoodCause.org to help us raise money for pediatric cancer research.

  • SHOW US YOUR GOLD! Whether it is gold items you already own or gold gear that you order through Wicked Good Cause, we want you to SHOW US how you GO WICKED GOLD! Share your efforts on social media (@wickedgoodcause, #gowickedgold) and/or by sending an email to info@wickedgoodcause.org. At the end of September, Wicked Good Cause will select one South Shore town as the winner of the HEART OF GOLD Challenge!
